    Version

    RF Online 2.1.5

This server runs RF Online 2.1.5 — the Episode 2 build of the game, unmodified, at ×1 rates. This page is what that means in practice, and how to get onto it.

    What 2.1.5 is

2.1.5 is the version of the Episode 2 client and server this world runs. The server build ships under the name Ep2p1u5, and its login server accepts client version 728 — so a client from any other episode cannot connect to it. What you get is the game as it was in 2007: three races on Novus, the Crag Mine war and the Chip War on the server's own timetable, the Holy Stone Keeper, and none of the systems later episodes added on top.

    Playing 2.1.5

You do not need to find a client anywhere: the launcher downloads it, checks every file against a checksum and keeps it current, and one button starts the game. On Windows that is the launcher; on a Mac or on Linux the browser installs the game instead.

    Questions people ask

Is 2.1.5 the same thing as Episode 2?

Yes — 2.1.5 is a build of Episode 2, and that is the episode this server runs. People searching for a 2.1.5 server and people searching for an Episode 2 server are looking for the same game.

Where do I download the 2.1.5 client?

From here, through the launcher — about 4.2 GB, fetched and verified file by file. A client you find elsewhere may be a different episode or a different build, and the login server will refuse it.

Which client version does a 2.1.5 server need?

    728. The login server checks it before anything else, which is the usual reason a client that looks right still cannot get past the login screen.

    Are the rates changed?

No. Experience, drops and money are ×1, the values the game shipped with. Levelling takes as long as it did in 2007, which is the point.

    Privacy

    What we keep, and why

RF NOVUS is a fan server run by players. We keep the minimum the game and this site need, we do not sell or share anything, and you can have it all deleted by writing to us.

    Your account

The account name and password you choose, the recovery e-mail you give us, and — if you use Continue with Google — the e-mail address of your Google account and nothing else. The password is stored the way the 2007 game protocol requires, so please use one you do not use anywhere else.

    Your game

Characters, levels, items, money and play time exist because you play; they live in the game database and are shown to you on the account page.

    Messages

What you send through the contact page: the name and e-mail you typed, the message, and the address it came from, kept so we can answer and stop abuse.

    Statistics

The site counts visits, pages and buttons pressed itself — no Google Analytics, no advertising trackers. It stores a random identifier in your browser, your browser and platform family, and a daily-changing hash of your address instead of the address. This only tells us whether the site works and what people use.

    Cookies

A sign-in cookie (seven days), your language choice, and the statistics identifier. Google sets its own cookies only when you press the Google button.

    Deleting everything

Write through the contact page from the e-mail on your account and name the account. We delete the account, its characters and its messages. Nothing is shared with anyone, and there are no ads.
