Cora

The Holy Alliance Cora is a theocratic civilisation whose history is full of religious wars, witch hunts and endless reformations. Split by centuries of civil war into dozens of factions, cults and sects, the Cora of today are united by one indivisible faith in Decem, Creator of All Things, who turned Oblivion into Perfection. The strength of the whole civilisation, and the exceptional devotion of the Cora to their cause, rests on the Dark Force, the greatest and most beautiful gift Decem gave his children.

Cause and faith are the only things that exist in a Cora life. Their faith forbids marriage, since a conflict of priorities might arise between family and god. Their cause forbids renouncing the war fought for Decem, or abandoning it. All this people needs is to preserve the balance of All Things as Decem created it, and any method will serve, from bribery and secret killings to the complete destruction of the unbelievers in the fires of the Weave.

Decem made Nature beautiful and cruel. He made his children the same way. The ideologies of other peoples stand in sharp contradiction to Cora belief. The Accretians, who destroy everything in their path and render pristine nature into fuel to sustain their defiled lives; the Bellato, who trample the earth with their repulsive machines: all of them must die for the glory of Decem.

For the Cora nothing in the universe matters more than Decem and his purposes. To earn His blessing, to be worthy of His gaze, is what a Cora lives for. And in their crusade, surrounded by the wonders of a newborn God, the Cora long ago forgot how any of it began.
