Where can I sell items?

Every headquarters has NPCs with a Buy option: they buy anything you no longer need.

I was hitting a monster and fire flashed over my character. What was that?

Congratulations, your character gained a level.

What is the bar at the bottom, and why does the percentage keep growing?

It is your experience. When it passes 100% your character gains a level.

What is the disc in the top right corner?

The map. It helps you find your way; the letter N marks north. Party members and targets show on it too.

Who can kill my character, and which places are safe?

Any hostile creature can, and players of the other races can attack you. Walled areas with NPCs (outposts, guard posts, headquarters) are safe zones where nobody can harm your character.

Why can't I use some items?

When an item cannot be used, the chat window says why. Read the item's properties.

I pick up dropped items. Where do they go?

Into your inventory. Open it with the inventory icon on the bottom bar or by pressing I.

Does anything besides health grow when my character levels up?

Yes. Some stats grow too, and new weapons and armour become available.

Can I restore health?

Yes. Buy the items for it from Merchants; there is one in almost every safe zone.

How do I estimate my chances against a monster?

Look at the number of dots in the target window. If you are ready to run back after a death, hit the monster once and see what happens.

What are the ships that keep leaving, with messages about it?

Kartela shuttles. They fly between continents; you can take one once your character reaches level 30.

Many characters around me look like mine and many don't. How do I tell players from NPCs?

Hovering over an NPC shows no HP, with the exception of the guards near the mines.

What changes as a skill's level grows?

Its duration and the strength of its effect.

There is an icon next to my name. What does it mean?

Your combat rank. You can see it in your character's status window.

Can I be cheated in the game?

Yes. As in the real world, another player may try to cheat you, and the administration does not intervene in play.

What dangers await my character?

Many, from high-level monsters to a party of players of another race.
