The race leader
Who is the race Patriarch in RF Online?
RF Online has three races: the Bellato Federation, the Holy Alliance Cora and the Accretian Empire. Each of them elects a leader, the Patriarch.

How to become Patriarch
The Patriarch leads their race and is chosen the fairest and most democratic way there is, by a vote. Players above rank 4 may take part. The Patriarch and their assistants hold office for one week.
How the vote runs
Any player above rank 4 can become Patriarch. Voting runs from midnight on Tuesday until 17:00 on Saturday.
Step 1: registering

A player above rank 4 may stand. Filing an application costs 10,000,000 in race currency and is done with the Commander NPC in headquarters. Applications are accepted from midnight on Tuesday until 17:00 on Saturday.
Step 2: the two rounds

Everyone who filed between midnight Tuesday and 17:00 Saturday becomes a candidate, the sitting Patriarch included. The first round, the shortlist, opens at 17:00 on Saturday. The second round, the vote itself, runs from 18:00 Saturday to 22:00 Sunday, and the standings show in the bottom right of the screen throughout. The first round narrows the field to 8 candidates for the second; candidates who do not get through are not refunded.
Careful. Each character may vote only once a week, and only characters who have taken their first specialisation can vote. Bear in mind that a vote's weight depends on the voter's level and rank: the higher the rank, the heavier the vote.
Step 3: the result

Voting closes at 22:00 and the result is announced. Whoever comes first becomes Patriarch; the players placing second through fifth become Archons.
Step 4: taking office

At midnight on Monday the newly elected Patriarch receives every power of the office, and holds them for the week, until midnight the following Monday.
What the Patriarch does
Every race has its own Patriarch. Wars are fought every day, and the race that wins gains access to the planet's richest resources. Beyond that, the Patriarch can talk to the Patriarchs of the other races, appoint the race's officers, settle disputes inside their own race and make alliances.
