Combat: PvP and RvR

Player versus monster

On the radar, monsters are yellow dots. Some monsters are aggressive and attack first, so be careful.

Over a monster the cursor turns from blue to red. Left-click to select the monster (take aim); its information appears at the top of the screen.

03 | The level difference between you and the monster, shown as round markers of different colours. The number of markers shows how many levels the monster is above you. In the picture there is 1 marker: the monster is one level higher.

04 | Monster kinds: ordinary, veteran, pit boss.

To attack, left-click the selected monster again or press Space. Using an attack skill or Force also attacks.

Note

You can keep pressing Space or the mouse, but there is an easier way: switch on automatic attack and the character keeps attacking until the monster is dead. Press Z or Ctrl+Z.

Manual mode
One attack.

Automatic mode
Attacks the monster until it dies.

Player versus player (race versus race)

The core idea of RF Online is constant confrontation. Players of different races may attack one another whenever they like. This is the race war: Race versus Race, RvR.

Attacking a player of another race

Players of other races show on the radar in these colours:

Over a character of another race the cursor turns red. Left-click and the target's information panel appears.

Left-click again (or press Space, or attack with a skill or Force) and your character attacks.

Note: inside any race's headquarters no attack is possible.

Note

For a continuous attack, switch on automatic attack with Z or Ctrl+Z, as with monsters.

Attacking a player of your own race

To attack a player of your own race, go to your race's Hero NPC and buy a Chaos potion. After drinking it (the effect lasts 600 seconds) you can attack players of your race. To return to normal, wait for the effect to end or drink a healing potion, also sold by the Hero.
