The Crag Mine war

The war for the Crag Mines

A war fought three times a day between the races. The winning race earns the right to mine ore safely, under the protection of the Altar Keeper, in the central part of the Crag Mines.

How the Crag Mine war starts

An hour before the war begins, a message asks whether you want to be teleported to the mines:

  • Answer Yes and you are moved automatically to your race's teleport inside the mine area. Answer No and you have to make your own way there.
  • The offer works only once.

* Once the war is over, no teleport is available.

The quest "Assault on the Crag Mines"

Two conditions have to be met to complete the quest:

1. Capture the control terminal. If your race destroys another race's terminal, your race wins the war for the Crag Mines. If your race is the first to lose its own terminal, you have lost. The enemy terminal's Guards will stand in your way.

2. Obtain a Spirit Reading Device. You have to pick up one item, the Spirit Reading Device, which drops from the Guards protecting an enemy chip, and only during the war. A player who does not pick one up during the war cannot mine ore in the central part of the Crag Mines, even if their race wins.

How the war and the mining time are calculated

Survival mode:

  • The race that won the last battle starts the next one with its chip's HP already reduced, based on what was left of it at the end of the previous battle.
  • The chips of the other two races are unaffected.

The Altar Keeper's idle period:

  • Once the winner and the losers are decided, the Altar Keeper appears and can be attacked by enemies for 30 minutes.
  • The Keeper's HP is one fifth of the chip's remaining HP.
  • While idle, the Keeper does not attack players.
  • If the Keeper is killed within those 30 minutes, it does not respawn until the time of chaos begins.
  • If it survives the 30 minutes, its HP is restored and it defends the winning race.
  • If the war ended without a winner, no race can attack the Keeper.

The schedule:

  • The maximum mining time for the winning race is 7 hours; the real drilling time depends on several things: war + the Altar Keeper's idle period + the base drilling time = 3 hours in total. The less time 1 and 2 take, the more is left for drilling.
  • If a player carries the chip home successfully within 10 minutes, drilling time is extended by another hour.

The formula: base 3 hours + up to 3 hours for the chip's remaining HP + 1 hour for a successful chip delivery = 7 hours.

An example of how the result changes the time:

2 h30 min30 min3 h1 h1 h
Race warBase drillingKeeperDrilling for remaining HPDrilling for chip deliveryremaining HP = 100%

base 3 h + 3 h for remaining HP + 1 h for a successful chip delivery = 7 hours

base 3 h + 3 h for remaining HP + 0 h for a failed chip delivery = 6 hours
remaining HP = 50%

base 3 h + 1 h 30 min for remaining HP + 1 h for a successful delivery = 5 hours 30 min

base 3 h + 1 h 30 min for remaining HP + 0 h for a failed delivery = 4 hours 30 min

Positive and negative Forces granted by the result

  • During the war in the mines, for 30 minutes after a chip is destroyed the Altar Keeper comes under attack, and the outcome decides which Force is applied to a race.
  • A Force lasts until the next Crag Mine battle.
  • Race Forces stack on top of skills and boosters, increasing their effect. If you log out, the Force is still there when you log back in.

PvP points

Victory

The race that wins the war for the Crag Mines can mine ore safely — guarded by the Altar Keeper — in the central part of the mines. On top of that, the players who picked up a Spirit Reading Device receive 50,000 race currency and 2,000 status points.

Points earned in player-versus-player fighting (PvP points) can be exchanged for platinum with the Commander NPC at headquarters.

* Note: there are two kinds of defeat:
1. A full defeat — one of the enemy races destroyed your race's chip (you lose 2,500 status points).
2. A partial defeat — one enemy race destroyed the chip of the other enemy race (no status points are taken).

The Chip Bearer

The Chip Bearer is the player who landed the final, winning blow on the enemy terminal.

  • A green beacon lights up above the player's head.
  • The beacon gives that player +50% defence.
  • The Chip Bearer also cannot mine ore inside the Crag Mines without a Spirit Reading Device.

The Chip Bearer's task

  • Within 10 minutes, the Chip Bearer has to reach the inner part of the Crag Mines alive, to win the favour of the Altar Keeper and extend the safe mining time by one hour.

The Altar Keeper appears

The Altar Keeper appears 10 minutes after the war for the Crag Mines ends.

The state of chaos

When the favourable mining time for a race runs out, the Altar Keeper falls into a state of chaos. In this state it attacks every race. The chaos lasts at least one hour.

Ten minutes before the next war for the Crag Mines, the Altar Keeper disappears. That is the time for the races to prepare.

ATTENTION! Mining ore matters: processed, it yields the gems and taliks that strengthen your character's armour and weapons.

The terminal's guard

A race's terminal is guarded. The guards are friendly to players of your own race and hostile to the others. They hit hard but have very little life. Killing another race's guards can drop the Spirit Reading Device needed for the quest.
