Owning a city

What does owning a city mean?

Each of the races fighting over the planet's resources holds two cities on the surface of Novus. A guild that takes control of a city can shift not only its own economy but the economy of the whole race. Owning a city is a powerful instrument in capable hands, and only the best of the guilds will be fit to take the reins.

How a city is won

Where two guilds hold the same number of points, the order is settled by the conditions below.

You can check the week's status points with the Clerk NPC in each race's headquarters.

What the owner gets

In every race the top two guilds by status points take the following privileges.

The guild in first place for its race owns the city with the auction, which carries the right to use the fast automatic mining rig.

The guild in second place owns a city, with the right to use the ordinary automatic mining rig.

The automatic mining rig

An automatic mining rig stands in each city. With it you can always mine +4 ore, whether or not your race won the war for the Crag Mines.

+4 ore

+4 ore behaves as follows: a high chance of yielding high-quality gems; refining produces shavings; and refining produces a large amount of workable resources.

Black topaz, spirit ruby, angel diamond and true obsidian:

Only the leader of the guild that owns the city can operate the rig.

1. The state of the battery that runs the rig. A full charge lasts 24 hours.

2. Charging the battery. Type the amount you want to spend, or use the arrows, and the time the battery gains shows on the right. A full 24-hour charge takes 5,000 platinum out of the guild's shared funds, with no vote needed.

3. Choosing the ore. You can pick the colour of ore you want to mine.

4. Starting the rig. Check and set the battery charge, pick the ore colour and press the button to start.

5. Choosing the hold. The rig itself has two inventory holds of 40 slots each, 80 in all, and you can check either.

6. The hold. Here you can see the ore you have mined and move it into your own inventory. Moving items the other way, from your inventory into the rig, is not possible.

Read this before you use the rig

1. Only the leader of the guild that won the city can operate it.

2. Once the rig's hold is completely full it stops mining automatically.

3. When the city passes to another guild, at midnight on Monday, every piece of ore in the rig's hold disappears.

4. You can move items from the rig's hold into your own inventory, but not the other way round.
